Maxum published general owner's manuals for its boats, as well as model-specific supplements that included specifications and diagrams. The company's customer care website provides electronic versions of manuals supplements for boats manufactured between 2000 and 2009. Maxum supplied printed manuals and supplements with newly purchased boats.

The manual supplements differ by year and model and contain information such as the location of the hull identification number, schematics, wiring diagrams and details on audio equipment. The owner's manuals include general information about boat operation, safety and maintenance. Separate manuals exist for sports boats, cruisers and yachts. Production of new Maxum boats began in the 1970s and ceased in 2009.
