What is the meanest dog breed?

Studies by the Centers for Disease Control, the Humane Society and the American Veterinary Medical Association point to the pit bull being the most dangerous dog breed. These dogs have been known to maul people to death and are often raised by their owners to be mean.

Other mean dogs include Rottweilers, German shepherds, Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes. Others in the top 10 include Dalmatians, Chow Chows and Boxers. Any of these so-called "mean" dogs tend to make excellent guard dogs and watch dogs since they are fearless and brave. With proper training, even the most aggressive pit bull can become a well-behaved dog.
