What is the meaning of "4H"?

The meaning of 4-H is "head, heart, hands and health." These are the core values that members of the nonprofit organization 4-H work on through various programs.

With their head, members of 4-H learn managing and thinking. With their heart, they learn relating and caring. With their hands, they learn giving and working, and with their health, they learn being and living. 4-H is the largest youth development organization in the United States, with more than 6 million members. The mission of 4-H is to empower young people to reach their full potential, which they do from working and learning in partnership with caring adults.
