What is the meaning of "IEEE"?

IEEE is an acronym for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. It is pronounced as "eye-triple-e". IEEE is an association that is dedicated to advancing the innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity.

IEEE is the largest technical professional society. The association is set up to serve all professionals that are employed in the electrical, electronic and computing industries. IEEE can be dated all the way back to the year 1884, when society was starting to be heavily influenced by the use of electricity.

IEEE is not legally recognized by its acronym on legal business documents, but it is recognized as IEEE anywhere else.
