What is the "minimize window" shortcut?

There are multiple ways a user can minimize active windows in Windows 7 and Windows 8. One of the most common ways is to minimize all active windows by pressing Win (Windows logo key) + D. This shortcut brings the user directly to the desktop.

A user can also minimize each window separately by selecting the active window he wishes to minimize and pressing Win + Down Arrow. Pressing that combination of keys once reduces the window size to its previous setting, while pressing it again completely minimizes it. The process is reversed by pressing Win + Up Arrow. By using Alt + Tab to switch between windows, a user can easily minimize specific ones.
