Mount Rainier is an active volcano located in the state of Washington, southeast of Seattle. Rainer is 14,410 feet high and includes six major rivers, according to the National Park Service. Its size makes it visible on the horizon to people hundreds of miles away.

The summit of Rainier has two large craters that have diameters of more than 1,000 feet, according to Wikipedia. An eruption of the volcano would pose a serious threat to people, animals and plants in the Puyallup River valley. The volcano has experienced significant erosion over time, leading to dispersed deposits of rock and dirt.
