For the 2015 NFL season, an official can expect to be paid from $78,000 to $205,000 per year. This has been the pay scale for the last three NFL seasons.
NFL officials can make from $2,500 to $3,000 per game. First year officials make $90,000, veteran officials make $205,000 and the average salary is $173,000. From 2012 through 2013, the average salary was $149,000. At the time, first year officials made $50,000 and the veterans made $160,000. During the 2019 NFL season, officials will receive a pay raise. The average salary will be increased to $187,000, with rookies making $90,000 and veterans making $230,000.
