A healthy, sexually mature, emerald tree boa weighs at least 40 ounces if male and at least 50 ounces if female. Emerald tree boas are sexually dimorphic, and males are smaller than females throughout adulthood.
Snakes continue to grow upon reaching sexual maturity, making an estimate of average weight difficult. However, a length of 6 feet is average for snakes of breeding age. Emerald tree boas originating from the Amazon River basin, may grow much larger, up to 9 feet, with a correspondingly heavier body mass. At hatching, young emerald tree boas weigh between .7 ounces and 1.7 ounces and are 15 inches in length.
