As of May 2013 the average pay for home health aides was $22,050 annually, or $10.60 per hour, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The median salary was $21,020 per year, or $10.10 per hour.
Ten percent of home health aides made at or below $16,690 per year as of May 2013, reported the BLS. At the high end, 10 percent earned at or above $29,480 per year. Nursing care facilities were the top-paying among the largest employment sectors at $22,770 per year on average. Aides in Connecticut earned the highest salaries by state, with average annual pay of $28,620.
