As of 2015, Motrin recommends that children from the ages of 2 to 3 and weighing between 24 and 35 pounds should take 1 teaspoon of Children's Motrin Oral Suspension. The recommended amount of Motrin a child should take depends on his weight and height.
Children from the ages of 6 to 8 years old weighing between 48 and 58 pounds should take a 2-teaspoon dosage, advises Motrin. Additionally, an adult should give a child that is 11 years of age and weighs between 72 and 95 pounds 3 teaspoons of Motrin. Motrin's website provides updated recommended dosages for its products.
