How much should you tip a carpet installer?
By Forinfos - 06/04/2026 - 0 comments
As of 2014, carpet installers are usually tipped $10 to $15 per job when the job includes removing old carpeting, installation and cleanup. For installation only, carpet installers are usually tipped $5 to $10 each.
Professional carpet installers typically move furniture items that are easy for two workers to carry. Additional costs may be tacked onto a bill for moving cumbersome items, such as pianos, large cabinets and aquariums. Homeowners may also pay fees for the removal of old carpeting. Before the installers arrive, homeowners should disconnect wiring from electronics, such as TVs, stereos and computers. Breakable items, such as vases, collectibles and lamps, should also be removed ahead of time.
