How much should you tip a tattoo artist?

However, a March 2013 "Tattoo Artist Magazine" article suggests a much greater tip of 20 to 30 percent of the bill.

The relationship one expects to have with a particular artist may affect tipping. Just as patrons tip salon hair stylists, a person planning a long-term relationship with a tattoo artist might want to establish a good rapport with a generous tip. If the tattoo is a one-time deal, a smaller tip may suffice.
