A tip is not always necessary if the retailer includes a delivery charge on the bill of sale when the furniture was purchased, yet in cases where the delivery personnel are particularly efficient or the delivery is challenging, the tip is appropriate. A larger tip of about $20 per person may be appropriate for deliveries that are performed in inclement weather or are particularly heavy as well as for those that include furniture assembly.
