When is National School Custodian Day?

There is no day set aside for school custodians, but Oct. 2 is National Custodial Worker's Day. The holiday is not widely recognized, and its origin is unknown.

Custodial workers are often overlooked in general. However, they provide a much-needed service that most people are not willing to do. School custodians are the workers in this field who are most visible. They work during the day, while the children are in school. Many custodians work after the office or business closes for the evening. They go in, do all the cleaning and leave before people start to show up the next morning.
