Where will the next Winter Olympics be held?

As of 2014, the next Winter Olympics are to be held in PyeongChang, South Korea from Feb. 9-25, 2018. These are the second Olympic Games to be held in South Korea.

The first Olympic Games held in South Korea were the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. PyeongChang was elected to be the host city by the International Olympic Committee in 2011. The 2018 Winter Olympics are set to follow the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and precede the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. As of 2014, the host city for the 2022 Winter Olympics has not yet been elected. The Winter Olympics and Summer Olympics alternate; each event occurs every four years.
