According to MedicineNet, normal creatine levels are 0.6 to 1.2 milligrams per deciliter in men and 0.5 to 1.1 milligrams per deciliter in women. The test is given to check for kidney function and abnormalities.
MedicineNet goes on to say that those with only one kidney may still have "normal" ranges that are 1.8 or 1.9 milligrams per deciliter. Adults with test results that are 10 milligrams per deciliter and higher and babies that have a creatine level of 2 milligrams per deciliter are showing signs of kidney disease. The creatine level is checked through a blood test.
