What is Nystop powder?

Nystop powder, a topical form of the generic antifungal medication nystatin, stops the growth of fungus and is used to treat fungal infections of the skin caused by Candida yeast. Doctors sometimes prescribe it to treat diaper rash, but they do not prescribe it to treat vaginal fungal infections.

Doctors normally instruct patients to coat the affected area lightly with Nystop powder twice a day and to avoid wrapping, covering or bandaging the area. Doctors advise patients to apply the powder at the same times each day. WebMD warns patients against getting Nystop powder in the eyes, mouth or nose. If patients apply Nystop powder to these areas, they should rinse the areas thoroughly with water.
