Of all the oceans on Earth, the Arctic Ocean contains the most icebergs. Most icebergs are formed in the Arctic region of the Earth; the North American Ocean contains large amounts of icebergs as well.
The majority of icebergs in the world are generated in the North Pole that lies in the middle of the Arctic Ocean. The frigid Arctic Ocean is the smallest of the world's five oceans and the only one with a surface mostly covered with ice that often shifts and cracks, forming new icebergs. Many of these icebergs eventually drift down into the Atlantic Ocean. The Titanic sank after hitting an enormous iceberg in the North American Ocean.
