According to the World Darts Federation, a dart board should be hung so that the center of the bull's eye is 5 feet 8in from the floor. The WDF standard distance from the toe line to the face of the board is 7 feet 9 1/4 inches.

The center of the bull's eye is set at 5 feet 8 inches because that is considered to be eye level for a man who is 6 feet tall. A regulation dart board is 17 3/4 inches in diameter, meaning the bottom of the board should be 4 feet 2 1/4 inches from the ground. If the board protrudes from the wall, the regulation 7 foot 9 1/4 inch distance from the toe line should be measured from the face of the board, not the wall.
