Ofloxacin Ophthalmic Solution USP is a type of anti-infective agent that is intended to treat eye infections. It fights bacterial infections in eye conditions such as conjunctivitis or corneal ulcers.
Ofloxacin belongs to a form of antibiotics known as quinolones. It works for bacterial eye infections, but it does not work for non-bacterial forms of eye infections. It is usually taken four or more times a day for the treatment of infections by instilling the solution in the eye. According to MedicineNet, it can sometimes cause side effects such as temporary blurred vision, itchy or dry eyes, red eyes or sensitivity to light.
