What does the ovule of a flower contain?
By Forinfos - 23/02/2025 - 0 comments
The ovule is the part of a flower in which the female sex cell, the egg, is contained. If the ovule is fertilized, an embryo develops, eventually growing into a seed.
A flowering plant or flower is known as an angiosperm. Flowers contain multiple ovules that are enclosed within the ovary. Ovaries are a part of the carpel, which is connected to a stalk or funiculus.
Over time, the ovule matures, resulting in the growth of food storage for future seeds, stored within seed coats. The micropyle is a small opening in which pollen can enter the ovule to allow for fertilization to occur.
