The largest individual shareholder of Apple, Inc. is Arthur D. Levinson, with over 1.1 million shares, as of late November 2014. Levinson is currently the non-executive Chairman of the Board of directors for Apple. He joined the Board in 2000 and became co-lead director in 2005.
The list of top individual investors also includes Apple insiders Tim Cook, Craig Federighi, Robert Mansfield and Al Gore, Jr. The largest mutual fund holder is the Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund, with almost 96 million shares, or 1.64 percent of the total shares outstanding. The Vanguard Group is also the largest institutional investor, with 327 million shares, which includes the index fund.
