As of 2015, both investment funds and public institutions own BlackRock Funds, which is a publicly traded company. The largest shareholders in BlackRock are PNC Bank and Norges Bank with 21.14 and 7.22 percent share ownership respectively.
BlackRock co-founder Larry Fink is the current CEO of the company. In 2014, the company ranked 94th on the Fortune 100 list and has approximately $4.65 trillion worth of assets under its management. Within BlackRock, there are over 135 investment teams managing more than 7,700 portfolios. The company also operates over 70 offices located in 30 countries and employs over 12,000 people worldwide.
