As of 2014, MySpace is owned jointly by Justin Timberlake and Specific Media LLC. Prior to this purchase, MySpace was owned by News Corporation who had purchased it in 2005 for $580 million from its original founders, Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson.

MySpace held the distinction of being the most visited social media network in the world between 2005 and 2008. During the 2008 fiscal year, MySpace recorded a revenue of 800 million dollars. As of April 2014, MySpace still generates 1 million unique visits from the United States. The company is headquartered in Beverly Hills, CA, and generated an estimated 20 million dollars in 2013.
