Pain-a-Trate cream is useful for temporary relief of back pain, arthritis pain, muscle strains or sprains, and bruises, according to Drugs.com. In addition, Pain-a-Trate helps relieve minor aches and pains and is only for external use.
Pain-a-Trate is a Melaleuca product that is applied directly to the affected area through gentle massage, states Drugs.com. Patients should not use the product more than three or four times per day, and must avoid using it on open wounds, damaged skin or with a heating pad. Pain-a-Trate contains methyl salicylate that permeates the skin, speeds up blood flow, and reduces inflammation and pain, while providing a heating sensation that allows the muscles to relax.
