What is the paraspinal musculature of the thoracic spine?
By Forinfos - 30/05/2025 - 0 comments
The paraspinal musculature of the spine consists of two muscles that run parallel to the spine. These two muscles lie on top of one another and provide mobility of the spine.
The paraspinal muscles can often become injured or spasm just like other muscles in the body and exercises can help strengthen these important muscles. When the paraspinal muscles become injured or tight, it can make back movement difficult and painful. Prolonged injury, tension or pain in these muscles can lead to curvature of the spine or scoliosis.
Often pain in these muscles is mistaken for lung, heart or kidney problems, so those suffering from back pain should seek medical attention.
