The patron saint of police officers is Saint Michael the Archangel. He represents the values of chivalry, courage and justice and is also the patron saint of anyone who works in a dangerous job, including military personnel, firefighters and paramedics.
Michael appears more often than any other angel in the major religious books and is mentioned in the Torah, the Bible and the Quran. He is the head of all the other angels and is said to lead the armies of God to defeat Satan in the world's final battle, according to the Book of Revelations.
Catholic tradition also holds that when a person dies, Michael comes down to escort the soul to heaven.
