What was Paul Revere's most famous quote?

Paul Revere's most famous quote, "The British are coming," is actually a misquote. He never said it. Historians point out that at the time of the English invasion, most colonists still considered themselves British, so the phrase would have been meaningless to them.

If Revere said anything at all, which many historians question because shouting could have drawn unwanted attention from English soldiers, it would have been to the effect of the "Regulars." The Regulars was the term colonists used to refer to British soldiers. Contrary to popular belief, Paul Revere did not ride alone on the journey during which he supposedly uttered his most famous words. At least two other men rode with him.
