What is the pay scale for a caregiver in a group home?

As of May 2014, caregivers employed in group homes earned between $17,000 and $28,000 per year depending on experience and location, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Hourly wages ranged from minimum wage to above $14 per hour.

Caregivers are also known as home health or personal care aides. The duties of a home health aide include attending to a client or patient's medical needs, such as changing bandages and administering medications. Personal care aides assist with activities of daily living such as dressing, meal preparation and housekeeping duties. The difference in pay scale is reflected by the job responsibilities held.
