A PeeGee hydrangea shrub, or Hydrangea paniculata, features white-to-pink blooms with large flower heads consisting of smaller blossoms. The deciduous shrub grows to between 10 and 25 feet high and looks like a small tree, when in reality the PeeGee hydrangea is a large shrub.
This plant spreads out to as much as 16 feet across and blooms between July and September. PeeGee hydrangeas grow best in lots of sunlight with partial shade. Soil is well-drained and slightly acidic for ideal growing conditions. Blooms start out as white, then turn to pink later and become brown during the winter. PeeGee hydrangeas make good hedges in landscape gardens.
