Labor Day is dedicated to American workers and is used to celebrate their contributions to the country through the year. It is an annual celebration of those that have given to the prosperity, economy and the well-being of the country.
The first Labor Day was on September 5, 1882, and took place in New York City. It is celebrated on the first Monday of September. In Canada, Labour Day, is also celebrated on the same day. Labor Day is generally considered to be the last weekend of summer as most schools begin their fall semester or school years in the days leading up to or after Labor Day.
