How big is the world's biggest moose?

Moose are the largest of the deer species, and the biggest in the world stand more than 7 feet tall at the shoulder and weigh more than 1,800 pounds. The antlers of males can spread more than six feet from end to end. These largest of moose are "Alaska Moose," the sub-species found in Alaska and the western Yukon.

Despite their behemoth size, moose are surprisingly good swimmers, able to paddle several miles in water at a time and submerge for more than 30 seconds. They are also remarkably nimble on land, with the capability of traveling at speeds of up to 35 miles per hour over short distances and steadily at 20 miles per hour.
