Is a frog a carnivore?

Frogs are carnivores that eat live prey and do not feed on plants or carrion. However, frogs can't chew their food and must swallow it whole.

Some frogs are capable of killing and consuming surprisingly large prey, such as mice and other frogs. Because they are cold-blooded, they don't need to feed very often to support their metabolism.

Most frogs don't hunt, but wait for their prey to come close enough for them to attack. Then, they either grab the prey with a long, sticky tongue or quickly envelop it with their mouth. Frogs shut their eyes when they eat. When their eyelids close, the eyes are pushed down into the mouth, which helps them to swallow the food.
