Phi Sigma Theta is a National Honor Society for students enrolled in colleges and universities. Phi Sigma Theta recognizes students who excel academically, exhibit leadership qualities and participate in community service.

In order to gain membership in Phi Sigma Theta, college students must have completed one semester of study at a four-year institution offering bachelor's degrees and achieved a grade point average between 3.0 and 4.0. Students may also be nominated by current members of Phi Sigma Theta or the college's academic office. Once they are members of the society, students are required to maintain a "B" average, volunteer with community projects and pay annual dues which amount to $59 as of 2014.
