Where are pine trees located?

Pine trees grow primarily in the Northern Hemisphere. Several species of pine have been artificially introduced to select temperate and subtropical regions in the Southern Hemisphere.

Pine trees are the most common type of conifer found in the world. Pines are most commonly distinguished by their long needles and cone-shaped fruit. Their needles grow in bundles, often in groups of two, three and five. Pine tree branches grow in a ring formation around the trunk and typically become smaller as they go up.

Pines are one of the most commercial trees in the world. Their wood is used for quality carpentry, and they are harvested in bulk for timber and pulp.
