What plans does McDonald's have for the future?

McDonald's is scaling back the number of items offered on its menus, as of late 2014. It is simplifying its selections and cutting items that do not selling well.

McDonald's currently admits that its menu board has gotten too complex for most customers. It currently sells multiple versions of popular items, such as Big Macs and chicken sandwiches. In an effort to simplify the menu, it plans to offer just one type of Big Mac, and the chain plans to narrow down options for other items. McDonald's also plans to cut out items that don't sell well, such as its fruit and walnut salad. McDonald's is also looking into ways to reduce the amount of preservatives in its foods.
