Where do poison dart frogs live?

Poison dart frogs live naturally in the rainforests of Central and South America and on some of the Hawaiian islands. The frogs are also bred to live in many zoos around the world.

Poison dart frogs' camouflage allows the colorful, little amphibians to blend with the foliage and shadows present in rainforest habitats. The frogs typically live far from human interference, if possible. Some species of poison dart frogs are endangered due to habitat loss. Some of these frogs can live healthy in captivity, typically in controlled environments styled after their natural ones. The frogs in captivity are not poisonous.
