What is a Pomeranian Beagle mix?

A Pomeranian Beagle mix is called a Pomeagle by the American Canine Hybrid Club (ACHC). The Pomeagle is considered a designer breed, rather than a mutt, because the entire lineage of the breed is known. They are characteristically very loyal, brave and intelligent, and generally make very good watchdogs.

Pomeagles fall into two categories of dog breed: hound and toy. Hound refers to a canine breed with an exceptional sense of smell, whereas toy characterizes a breed that is small in stature. Pomeagles have a life expectancy of 12 to 15 years. They can obtain an adult weight of 3 to 25 pounds depending on the ratio of the Beagle and Pomeranian mix found in the dog.
