Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue in Bismarck, North Dakota; Saving Grace Miniature Horse Rescue in Emmett, Michigan; and Angels for Minis Miniature Horse Rescue in Walnut Creek, California, are all popular mini horse rescue organizations. Many all-breed horse rescues such as Colorado Horse Rescue also rescue miniature horses.

As of December 2015, the American Miniature Horse Rescue does not offer a list of organizations that offer miniature horse rescue and adoption but does provide good general information about the breed. Miniature horses are not riding horses but can be trained to pull a small cart. Like all horses, miniature horses are herd animals and should kept with a companion or in a small herd.
