By Forinfos - 25/04/2025 - 0 comments
The post-operative recovery period for laparoscopic gallbladder removal surgery is one to two weeks, while the recovery period for the open gallbladder removal surgery is four to six weeks, states the National Health Service in the United Kingdom. Most commonly, patients opt to have the laparoscopic procedure.
Laparoscopic gallbladder removal surgery may be completed on an outpatient basis, states the NHS. Sometimes patients may have to stay one night in the hospital after the surgery, but most patients can recover at home. Open surgery typically requires patients to stay three to five nights in the hospital in order to recover after the surgical procedure.
