Expendable property is property that gets completely consumed through use or property that loses its identity after it is used. For example, a ream of printer paper gets completely used up after it has been printed on, so it no longer serves its function after use, which means it is expendable property.
When an item is used and loses its value or purpose either immediately after use or very rapidly after a couple uses, it is considered expendable. The opposite of expendable property is non-expendable property, which are items that retain their function after many uses. These are items that are bought seldomly and have continual usage.
