R-410A refrigerant is a hydro-fluorocarbon used in air conditioners. It does not contribute to ozone depletion and has replaced R-22 as the main refrigerant used for air conditioners in Europe, Japan and the United States. It is sold in pink cylinders.
R-410A is a blend of two hydro-fluorocarbons, difluoromethane and pentafluoroethane. It is sold under various brands, such as Forane 410A, Klea 66, Suva 410A, Puron and Genetron AZ20.
R-410A is a high-pressure refrigerant that can withstand greater pressurization than R-22. The level of R-410A’s toxicity has been studied and deemed safe when the refrigerant is used and handled with appropriate safety measures.
