What is a real-life ruler

A real-life ruler is an online or mobile app that takes actual-size measurements because it’s calibrated as a real, physical ruler. An actual-sized ruler is calibrated in inches and metric units (centimeter and millimeter). To measure an object, a user places it on the screen and touches its corner.

Also called “Smart Ruler,” the tool may support engineering scales, horizontal and vertical dimensions, caliper mode and surface level. If using a desktop, a user may have to click on the ruler image and follow a procedure that will have it adjusted to match the screen size of his device for accurate measurement.
