What is the recovery time needed for a heart stent?
By Forinfos - 17/07/2025 - 0 comments
Patients can usually resume their regular routines within about one week of receiving a heart stent, although those who do especially strenuous work require additional recovery time, according to Medtronic. Most patients return home the day following the procedure, but some can leave the hospital the same day.
Doctors clear most patients to get out of the hospital bed and walk around between two and six hours after receiving a heart stent, notes Medtronic. For a minimum of 24 hours following implantation, patients must refrain from smoking, performing strenuous exercises or lifting heavy loads. They should drink adequate fluids and rest to facilitate the healing process.
