Reitmans clothing is manufactured and sold in Canada, but customers can order it online and have it shipped to the United States. The company does not offer shipping to any other country. This clothing line was founded in Canada in 1926.

Herman and Sarah Reitman started their clothing store in Montreal, Quebec, but it quickly became a country-wide franchise. Reitmans has also bred some sister stores, such as RW & Company, Smart Set, Thyme Maternity, Addition-Elle and Penningtons. Reitmans and its successors cater to men and women aged 18 to 35, although some of its divisions are targeted at specialized markets.
