Remove Sharpie marks from skin by soaking cotton balls in baby oil, rubbing the cotton balls on the marks, and then washing the marked area with soap and water. Repeat the process as necessary to remove the marks completely. Dark marks sometimes take three or four repetitions to remove successfully.
- Soak cotton balls in baby oil
Soak several cotton balls in baby oil. Lots of oil is necessary to loosen the ink from the Sharpie markers.
- Rub the cotton balls over the marks
Use the cotton balls to coat all of the ink marks with baby oil. Rub gently to work the oil into the skin. The oil works by loosening the pigment from the markers.
- Let the oil sit on the skin
Wait five to 10 minutes for the baby oil to work. To remove darker or older marks, wait longer.
- Wash the marked areas with soap and water
Use warm water and gentle soap to wash away the baby oil. The Sharpie marks come off along with the baby oil. Scrub gently with a washcloth on darker marks. Rinse thoroughly.
- Repeat as necessary
Repeat starting with fresh cotton balls to loosen any remaining marks. Several repetitions are necessary for the most stubborn spots.
