What removes Super Glue?

Super Glue is removed with acetone, which is found in most fingernail polish removers. A cotton swab soaked in acetone is applied to the glue on skin and then gently pulled apart.

Super Glue on fabric should be removed by brushing the area with a toothbrush dipped in acetone. Super Glue on counter tops and other hard surfaces can be removed by applying acetone while scraping, sanding or peeling the glue.

Acetone should not be used to remove glue that is on lips, eyes or eyelids. Applying warm water on the outside of the lips and using saliva loosens the glue. The lips should be rolled apart. Eyes should be washed with warm water and should open in a few days.
