What river flows through London?

The River Thames flows through London, measuring 215 miles long. The river's source is at the Cotswolds Hill in Thameshead, and it empties into the Atlantic Ocean.

There is an ongoing dispute as to the actual length of the River Thames. Official data from the Ordnance Survey map shows the source of the river near the Kemble Village in the Cotswolds. However, some locals believe that the Thames begins at Seven Springs, adding another 14 miles to the river.

There are more than 200 bridges built across the River Thames. One of the famous landmarks in the English capital, the London Bridge spans 870 feet.
