Robin Roberts has never been married, as of January 2016. Roberts officially came out as a lesbian in early 2014, revealing that she has been in a relationship with her partner since 2005.

Roberts acknowledged her sexuality on "Good Morning America" and shared a photo of herself with her partner, Amber Laign, a massage therapist. Her announcement was spurred by a long battle with cancer, for which she received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award. In 2015, she was named one of the 31 Icons of LGBT History Month for her visibility as a gay woman and her efforts to promote LGBT rights.
