Who runs faster: tall people or short people?
By Forinfos - 12/12/2025 - 0 comments
Taller runners may have a slight edge over shorter runners; but when it comes to speed, other factors are more important than height. The power and force of a runner's feet hitting the ground determines speed more than any other factor.
Many factors determine how fast a person can run. Overall strength and flexibility as well as body proportion can influence speed. Leg length, quad strength and hamstring condition are also important. Some tall runners are slowed down by extra weight that shorter runners do not carry. Training, conditioning and determination increase running speed no matter the person's body type.
